This brooch/ pendant was made for the Automaton 20.21 show which was originally planned to be exhibited in Madrid ,Spain but due to COVID-19 had to go on virtually.

The exhibition was based on the idea of automaton and also the influence of technology on humans and our lives. This piece is my own modern take of Maria the robot in the groundbreaking movie of “Metropolis” from 1927.

The process of making this piece was extremely fun and engaging for me. I used an old watch face I had collected from a client many years ago and tried to mostly use bits and pieces I had left from previous projects to create something amazing.

Ai2 ( pronounced Aido) is made of roller printed sterling silver sheets, an old Bulova watch face, 18k gold, Emerald, Sapphire, Orange opal and tourmaline.
